2018 National Art Education Association National Convention

The Department cordially invites you to join FSU Art Education students, faculty, and alumni and attend the 2018 National Art Education Association (NAEA). National Convention! 

Scheduled to be held from March 22nd to March 24th in Seattle, Washington, the 2018 NAEA National Convention will be the largest gathering of art educators in the world and will host 5,000 art educators in over 1,000 sessions, workshops, tours, and other events. Featured presenters will include artist/educator Nick Cave, artist Preston Singletary, CEO Andre Thomas, artist/steam advocate/educator Nettrice Gaskins, artist John Grade, artist Rebecca Kamen, artist/educator Golan Levin, artist Barbara Earl Thomas, poet/artist Shin Yu Pai, artist/administrator Kristen Ramirez, artist/printer/first assistant to Shepard Fairey Nicholas Bowers, and NAEA President Kim Huyler Defibaugh. Sessions will be held at the Washington State Convention Center, 705 Pike Street, Seattle, WA 98101, from 8:00 am – 6:00 pm. Some sessions will be held at the Sheraton Seattle Hotel during the day, and all sessions after 6:00 pm will be held at the Sheraton.

Explore this year’s theme of Art + Design = STEAM, gain inspiration and information for your classroom and personal creativity, and join with FSU students, faculty, alumni, and colleagues in this promising experience and exploration of Seattle—”a city that thrives on creativity!” In addition, attendees are invited to socialize with FSU students, faculty, alumni, and friends at the FSU NAEA Friends and Family NAEA Reception, which will be held on Friday, March 23rd, from 8:00pm to 10:00pm at the Gordon Biersch Seattle (600 Pine Street, Suite 401, Seattle, WA 98101)!
