The MEX program is offered through the Department of Art Education and aims to prepare individuals as educators and curators through advanced museum theory and practice. This includes taking visitor-centered roles in museums and participating in thoughtful scholarship. Graves’ research focuses on volunteer experience, specifically volunteer motivation and retention in a museum setting. She is currently the Digital Asset Manager in the Curatorial department at the Montgomery Museum of Fine Arts in Montgomery, Alabama, where she manages digital collections and exhibition design. She will attend the International Conference in Granada, Spain this upcoming fall.

The International Conference is held annually and features research addressing multiple themes, scopes and concerns in the field. These themes often focus on visitors and their experience, the practices of collecting and curating, and the concept museums serving as communicators of culture and knowledge. Emerging Scholars contribute to the overall success of the conference, serving as chairs and mediators for conference panels and logistics. The conference also serves as a key opportunity for professional and career development within the field.
