This year , on August 7th through the 9th , Sookmyung Women’s University hosted the 3rd annual Cross Cultural Asian Art Education International Conference in Seoul, South Korea. Those who attended the conference were a myriad group of art educators, artists, and policy makers interested in coming together to share their research and practices.
The theme of the conference this year was Culture, Communication, and Art Education. The conference sought to:
“explore cross-cultural communications through art education and examine art education practices of Asian countries to empower and build cultural capabilities with educational implications.” (CAAE, 2014)
Haikyung Kim, associate professor at Gyeongin National University of Education in South Korea and FSU alumna, shared her contribution to the conference:
“…I explored cross-cultural communications through art education and examined art education practices of Asian countries to empower and built cultural capabilities with educational implications.”
Several other FSU Department of Art Education alumnae were also in attendance
We are always excited to see our FSU Noles making strides to come together and celebrate their alma mater regardless of international distances
