The Art Therapy Department at Mount Mary University invites applications for a full-time, 10-month contract, non-tenure-track faculty position, beginning August 2014. Rank and salary are commensurate with professional experience, teaching, and current professional status. Commitment to teach in the July doctoral colloquium is expected.
Program Overview
MMU’s 60-credit MS in Art Therapy Program is committed to a relational, art-based philosophy and curriculum that educates students to become compassionate artist-therapists through academic, artistic and experiential learning integrated with supervised clinical experience. The 40-credit Doctorate of Art Therapy Program is practitioner-based, low-residency, focused on advanced clinical, teaching, and leadership skills.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be an active participant in the department, with responsibilities that include: practicum coordination, teaching, and directing master’s theses; teaching in the doctoral program contributing to MMU through administrative duties and participation in committees; and ongoing engagement in scholarly, creative, and professional activities.
Qualifications
Required: a minimum of Doctor of Art Therapy degree, or equivalent in a related field and ATR-BC. Prior teaching, supervisory, and administrative experience preferred; extensive professional experience as an art therapist; demonstrated scholarly, studio and professional activity.
