The Department of Art Education would like to congratulate Dr. Pat Villeneuve on being chosen as the Outstanding Educator of the Year recipient!

On August 14, 2015, the College of Fine Arts held its third annual Fall Faculty and Staff Welcome & Awards ceremony at Florida State University’s  Museum of Fine Arts.

Chair of FSU’s Department of Art Education, Dr. David Gussak, stated that Dr. Villeneuve was not only well deserving of the title, but being voted upon was a “National culminating decision given the amount of dedication to not only the Arts Administration Program, but in her instrumental role in establishing the new Museum Education and Exhibitions Program. We’re all proud of her.”

Currently, Dr. Villeneuve is the Director and Doctoral Advisor of the Arts Administration program, and a Professor in Florida State University’s Department of Art Education. Dr. Villeneuve’s teaching areas and research particularly focus upon art museum education, visitor-centered exhibitions, and supported interpretation. Dr. Villeneuve has published, presented, and consulted extensively in the United States and internationally in countries like Barbados, China, and South Korea during the 2012-3013 academic year. She was also named the National Art Museum Educator in 2009. When asked about her award, Dr. Villeneuve said, “I feel incredibly honored to receive this award, especially given all the talented Faculty in the College of Fine Arts.”

Congratulations Dr. Villeneuve on another notable achievement!
