The Fulbright Association (FA) is an independent organization, which seeks to build upon and enhance the Fulbright international exchange experience by promoting scholarship, collaborative engagement and cultural diplomacy throughout the global community. Founded in 1977, FA is the official alumni association for those who have participated in the Fulbright Scholars Program. Every year, the Fullbright Association hosts an annual conference.

This year, the 38th Annual Fulbright Association Conference was held November 12- 14, 2015, in Atlanta, GA. The theme of the conference was: Creating Pathways to Peach: Global Health and Education.

The conference was co-hosted by five chapters and featured 2014 Nobel Peace Laureate Kailash Satyarthi as their Keynote Speaker. Among other distinguished speakers were Dr. Louis Sullivan, former secretary of U.S. Health & Human Services,  Ambassador Andrew Young, a prominent civil rights leader and politician, Dr. David Satcher, former U.S. Surgeon General, NBA legend and philanthropist Dikembe Mutombo, and Dr. Marcia Rosal, Professor and Director of Florida State University’s Art Therapy Program.

The title of Dr. Rosal’s presentation was: Art for Life: Art Therapists Respond to National and International Disaster Events. This presentation was part of a session titled “Sustaining the Fulbright Peace Dividend,” which looked at ways to continue to promote peace through our experiences as Fulbright Scholars and Specialists.
