Event Recap – Forum on Cultural Equity in the Arts: Building Bridges

Assistant Professor of Arts Administration Dr. Antonio C. Cuyler facilitated sessions at the Cultural Equity in the Arts: Building Bridges forum in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The forum took place on Saturday, May 30th, 2015 and was presented by the Broward Cultural Division in partnership with The Association of American Cultures, Old Dillard Museum, the School Board of Broward County, FL, the City of Fort Lauderdale, and the City of Fort Lauderdale CRA.

Discussion centered around pro-active explorations for integrating cultural equity within local arts policy as well as socioeconomic and educational infrastructures influenced by the arts. Participants worked together to problem-solve based upon equity of funding for all cultural institutions, elevation in multicultural leadership, as well as topics of storytelling, identity, leadership, and advocacy.
