FSU-NAEA Elects New Officers, Recruiting New Members!

Published January 20, 2017

The FSU Department of Art Education’s National Art Education Association student chapter (FSU-NAEA)  has begun the year by electing a new group of officers, including President Deanna Filiault, Treasurer Karissa Herb, and Secretary Clare Davis, and is currently recruiting new members!

Over the course of the semester, FSU-NAEA, which meets the third Tuesday of every month, aims to continue to grow as an organization and provide opportunities and connections for both art students and current or prospective art educators. Its goal this year is to fundraise enough money to invite and bring a speaker for its annual education workshop, a valuable event and experience for educators in the Tallahassee area. Furthermore, as the organization continues to develop, FSU-NAEA will strive to provide members with other opportunities such as gallery showings, the ability to teach and participate in workshops, and the chance to travel to the National Art Education Association (NAEA) and Florida Art Education Association (FAEA) conferences.

If you are an art education student, considering art education, or simply passionate about art and learning, the department highly encourages you to attend FSU-NAEA meetings as well as join NAEA and FAEA. Details for joining NAEA and FAEA can be found below:
