The Florida State University (FSU) Art Education Program is pairing up with The Plant to offer art classes to the community at a monthly event called Kid Empowerment Day. FSU Art Education students in the 5-year program will be working with Plant volunteers to design and offer art activities for all ages.
The October Kid Empowerment Day will take place on Saturday, October 15th, 2016, from 12:00 pm to 3:00 pm at The Plant. Those attending the event will have the opportunity to experience a fun, tactile, and slimy day of Halloween-inspired activities. Some of those to look forward to include slime production, paper bag monsters, fun creations with leaves, and much more!
In order to support community events hosted by The Plant, a $1 donation per child will be requested at the door. Families are encouraged to bring snacks and refreshments, as well as smocks or work-shirts to participate in messier activities.
Register for the October Kid Empowerment Day! For questions, interest in teaching a workshop or craft, or sharing your skills, please contact one of the hosts on the Facebook page of the event or email theplant.tally@gmail.com for more information.
Be mindful that Kid Empowerment Day is a monthly event with upcoming winter dates on November 19 and January 21st! Mark your calendars and stay tuned for the Spring 2017 schedule.
