Position Title

Associate/Assistant Professor, Art Education

Effective Date

Academic Year 2015-16

Salary Information

Salary negotiable based upon qualifications, education, and experience.

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • A PhD or EdD in Art Education at time of hire (or ABD considered)
  • Minimum of three years successful K-12 teaching experience
  • Three years college teaching and administrative experience preferred
  • Knowledge of special education needs/urban art education/community arts practices

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in art education including: introductory/ intermediate/advanced level art education courses for art/art education (BFA/BS) undergraduates and MED graduates; Field supervision of interns and student teachers; Graduate art education courses; advising of art education majors; curriculum committee work; administrative responsibilities.

Department

The Dept. of Art Education & Community Arts Practices aims to integrate our two fields in dynamic training for undergrad and grad students. The successful applicant for this position will have the opportunity to help to shape bold programming initiatives addressing critical issues in local schools and communities.
