Meredith McMackin, FSU Art Therapy, PhD Candidate.
On January 29th and 30th, Meredith McMackin, a FSU Art Therapy PhD Candidate, facilitated a Paper Making Workshop as part of her dissertation. During the workshop, FSU student veterans created paper using clothing of significance to create a piece of art.
Last year’s workshop, dedicated to Meredith McMackin’s son, Marine Corporal Julian McMackin Woodall, who was killed in Iraq in 2007, featured a bicycle-powered pulping machine and FSU’s (then) brand new Hollander beater.
By working with the Student Veterans Center on campus, Meredith was able to further her dissertation research while also benefiting Florida State’s student veterans. As a student at Florida State University, you have access to resources, like the Center, that can assist you with your research goals.
Students, such as Meredith, have access to the resources that Florida State University has to offer. The Graduate School has great resources for those interested in conducting their own research.
