Sara Scott Shields Elected as Higher Education Division Director

Dr. Sara Scott Shields, FSU Assistant Professor in the Department of Art Education

The Department of Art Education would like to sincerely congratulate Dr. Sara Scott Shields in her newly elected position as the Higher Education Division Director for the Florida Art Education Association (FAEA)!

FAEA is part of the National Art Education Association (NAEA). The NAEA is the leading professional membership organization for visual arts educators. The association is dedicated to providing its members with the appropriate knowledge, skills, and support for all arts educators.

When her position as the Higher Education Division Director starts in 2016, Dr. Shields will serve on the Board of Directors in order to promote membership in the FAEA, relay important information to members in the division, report activities of the division in each publication of the FAEA Fresh Paint, and develop conferences and other activities for the division level.

When asked about her new position, Dr. Shields said, “I was really surprised when I found out I go the position.  It is a really exciting opportunity to get to know the other university faculty in Florida and more importantly have the chance to be a part of a really outstanding group of art educators.”
