The Department of Art Education presents the 2014 FSU Alumni Reception at NAEA

Published April 8, 2014

San Diego Chinese Historical Museum’On the weekend of March 29, 2014, students and faculty of the Art Education department traveled to San Diego, CA to attend the NAEA (National Art Education Association) Convention. As part of the festivities, FSU hosted an Alumni Reception at the Chuang Archive and Learning Center (CALC) on Saturday March 29. This is the newest facility and was within walking distance from where the NAEA convention was held.

Every year at the convention, the FSU Art Education Department hosts this reception to bring together FSU alumni, faculty, current students, and prospective students for an evening of networking and camaraderie.  With each year our number of attendees steadily increases and last weekend we welcomed close to 100 alumni and friends of the FSU Art Education department. Due to the nature of the reception, attendees have considered it a hallmark event for the Department, our students, alumni, and faculty, to remain connected to their peers in the Art Education community. As one guest stated “the reception is a positive environment for interacting with professionals of similar interests and backgrounds.”

Chair and Professor of the Department of Art Education, Dr. Dave Gussak, refers to the reception with high regard…

“I am always amazed [at the turnout of the reception], every time we host this event. I am continuously thrilled at the pride and appreciation the alumni have for the Department and at the scope and influential reach our alum and friends of the Department have on the field of art education.”

yoonjung naea 2014Adriane Pereria, current Doctoral Student, concluded by saying that “the Chuang Learning Center was a perfect host for this year and we look forward to seeing everyone next year in New Orleans!”
