Following acquisition of both his masters and doctoral degrees in Aesthetics from the Renmin University of China, Dr. Hu entered into a rigorous application process initiated by the China Scholarship Council. He was awarded a scholarship by the state to study in the United States of America as a visiting scholar. The scholarship is affiliated with the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China and awarded airfare, and a twelve-month living stipend to assist Dr. Hu in his international studies. Following his visit to the United States Dr. Hu hopes to introduce American art education theory to the Southwest University Press of China in attempts to help globalize American teaching theory.

Dr. Hu has published several journal articles that focus on concepts such as multicultural art theory, and the improvement of visual arts and art education. He has also led several presentations and seminars regarding short-term training of art educators and taught full classes on concepts such as contemporary art and art education. It is with open arms that we welcome Dr. Hu to the Florida State University and wish him luck in his academic pursuits.
