Welcome to the Department of Art Education! Our department is internationally recognized, and we offer graduate degrees in four unique programs: Arts Administration, Art Education, Art Therapy, and Museum Education and Visitor-Centered Curation. Our faculty members are at the top of their fields and bring creativity and excellence in research that make a spirited learning environment. We offer courses built specifically to harness a sense of community and creativity while maintaining our mission of empowering people to empower people through the arts. In pursuit of our mission, we value raising social consciousness, deepening empathy, and fostering community integration. Our students have moved on to become educators, therapists, administrators, faculty, and more. Mission Statement
In the Department of Art Education, we strive to empower minds and transform lives, using art and research for social change. Our mission is to prepare exceptional leaders in the fields of arts administration, art education, art therapy, and museum education & visitor centered curation. We do this by providing theoretical and methodological foundations, in addition to hands-on experiences, that will nurture the next generation of practitioners and scholars. Graduates of our programs are exceptional stewards of their respective fields, carrying on traditions and introducing innovation.
