Combined Pathway
An accelerated master's program for FSU students majoring in Art.The BA or BFA + MS in Art Education Combined Pathway offers an accelerated route for students who want to merge their passion for art with a career in teaching.
MS in Art Education (Teacher Certification)
A residential or hybrid option that leads to eligibility fora K-12 teaching certificate in Art.The primary mission of the MS in Art Education with a focus on teacher certification is to prepare art teachers for public and private school service. This degree is a state-approved, initial teacher preparation program. Requirements are incorporated into the program of study to make students eligible for K-12 certification in art. The degree is suitable for aspiring teachers, and community art educators.
MS in Art Education (Professional Development)
An online option suitable for practicing artists, current teachers, and community arts educators.The MS in Art Education with a focus on professional development is an online program that invites students to participate in a scholarly community that allows the exchange of ideas, the cultivation of expertise, and the opportunity to connect theory and practice. Students engage in art making, curriculum development, and the study and critique of contemporary issues impacting the field of art education.
Online Ed.D. in Art Education
This degree encourages students to identify and develop solutions to problems that impact their field.This applied professional degree is focused on helping students solve local problems and address challenges impacting the field of art education. It is offered online in a mainly asynchronous format. The program uses a cohort model, where students develop close relationship with peers.
Residential Ph.D. in Art Education
The doctoral degree option is for individuals interested in high level scholarly research.The purpose of the Ph. D. in Art Education is to encourage students to make significant contributions to the body of knowledge related to art education. This degree is more than just coursework, it is focused on research and theory with the goal of becoming an expert in the field.
