Last Saturday, as part of Florida State University’s Festival of the Creative Arts, the Department of Art Education hosted a fun, family-friendly event that encouraged children to “Paint the Town.”

The over 50 kids and families worked to collaboratively paint panels featuring iconic Tallahassee buildings, made drawings of their communities, stamp futuristic buildings with Lego and decorated the sidewalk in front of FSU’s William Johnston Building with colorful chalk drawings.

“It is always wonderful to host events where we get to connect with the Tallahassee community, the kids, families, FSU students and faculty, had a blast!” said Sara Scott Shields, associate professor and chair of the Department of Art Education.
