Marissa Hart

Art Therapist

Corrections Art Therapy, Prisons Program

Department of Art Education

She has worked and interned in the mental health field within various men’s and women’s correctional institutions, inpatient and outpatient substance abuse treatment facilities, homelessness shelters and domestic violence shelters. During her educational and work experience Ms. Hart has developed a passion for working with those who are incarcerated, those who are experiencing disenfranchised grief, and those with trauma history. She continues to utilize approaches providing client-centered art therapy, mindfulness-based art therapy and more, with continued educational influence on practice. Ms. Hart is very appreciative that her role offers clinical experiences, research opportunities, state and national speaking engagements and the ability to work alongside FSU students in internship and practicum placements. She would not be the clinician she is today without the incredible team she works alongside.
